The safety and wellbeing of every child in our care is of the highest priority. Our school is fully committed to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment where all students can learn, grow, and develop with confidence.
We believe that safeguarding is a shared responsibility involving the school, parents, staff, and the wider community. Every member of our staff is expected to uphold the highest standards of care and vigilance to ensure that all children are protected and supported at all times.
Our safeguarding policy is designed to ensure that every student is protected from harm and treated with dignity and respect. We are committed to:
All safeguarding concerns are treated seriously and handled in accordance with established procedures designed to protect the best interests of the child.
Safeguarding is embedded in our school culture. Staff members are expected to remain attentive to the welfare of students and to report any concerns promptly through the school’s safeguarding channels.
The school maintains clear internal procedures for identifying, reporting, and responding to safeguarding issues to ensure that concerns are addressed quickly and responsibly.
We maintain a secure school environment through structured supervision, clear procedures for student movement, and strict protocols for visitors and student pick-up.
The school is also supported by 24-hour security personnel who monitor the premises to ensure the safety of students, staff, and school property at all times. These measures help maintain a secure and controlled environment both during and outside school hours.
In addition, the school places strong emphasis on promoting respectful behaviour, positive relationships, and a culture where students feel safe to speak up if they have concerns.
Our commitment to safeguarding extends beyond the school campus. We work closely with relevant local authorities to ensure the safety and protection of our students.
Where necessary, the school maintains access to and communication with appropriate authorities in order to respond effectively to safeguarding concerns and ensure that students receive the support and protection they need.
Parents and guardians play an essential role in safeguarding children. We encourage open communication between the school and families to ensure that concerns affecting a child’s well-being can be addressed promptly and collaboratively.
By working together with parents and the wider community, we aim to create a safe environment where every child feels protected, valued, and supported.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding every child entrusted to our care. Through vigilance, clear policies, responsible staff conduct, secure facilities, 24-hour security, and collaboration with parents and authorities, we strive to ensure that our school remains a place where children are safe, respected, and able to thrive.
Africa International College was created in 2003 out of the founder’s passion to make a positive difference in the lives of young people in Africa using Nigeria as the starting point.
Every child that walks into the AIC premises as a student is part of the Africa International College (AIC) family. This is a place where close ties between home and school are developed and nurtured.
